PRP Platelet-Rich Plasma / PRF Platelet-Rich Fibrin
If you’re looking for a natural alternative to skin rejuvenation PRP (platelet-rich plasma) / PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) has a long history and proven effectiveness of how the healing properties as well as growth factors that are present in our own blood can regenerate and rejuvenate the overall appearance of our skin.
What is PRP (Platelet-rich plasma) / PRF (Platelet-rich fibrin)?
PRP/PRF is a natural alternative to a dermal filler treatment. Instead of dermal filler we use the plasma and fibrin extracted from an individual’s blood to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the body as well as to promote healthy skin cell turnover.
Plasma and fibrin have a number of rich growth factors that have the capacity to regenerate skin tissue. In fact, PRP/PRF has been used effectively for a long time in sports medicine in order to heal sports related muscle and tissue injuries, as well as in the treatment of arthritis, and to help speed up the healing process of small fractures, amongst other uses.
PRP/PRF can be used to address fine lines and wrinkles, to add volume to targeted areas, it can be used to treat the face and hair area.
PRP/PRF is incredibly effective in improving the overall appearance of your skin, by restructuring and tightening the skin, smoothing out textural irregularities like acne scars, and giving it an overall regenerative glow.
What to Expect During Your PRP/PRF Treatment
Clients will have a vial or two of blood drawn from the arm. The blood will then be spun in a centrifuge and once completed platelet-rich plasma (yellowish liquid) or platelet-rich fibrin (ticker plasma) will be separated from the blood.
The vampire facial is a typical microneedling session which takes anywhere from 15-20 minutes. The plasma is loaded into the injector gun. We use the French-made U225 Injector which is the most sophisticated injector currently available on the market! Using pneumatic (air) pressure, this electric mesogun produces almost no trauma to the skin and is virtually painless!
There may be some minimal bleeding immediately following your treatment due to the tiny pricks. The treatment may require a few days of social downtime. Once healed the clients will see a notable improvement in the quality of the skin and these results will only continue to improve in the weeks following the treatment with the most noticeable results occurring after about a month.
PRF will proceed as any other injectable filler treatment. Platelet-rich fibrin will be drawn again from the blood, and will be stamped and injected expertly to targeted areas just under the surface of the skin. Just like after any injectable filler treatment, clients may experience some bruising, swelling, and tenderness at the sites of injection, but these symptoms will improve within a few days of the treatment. The results of the treatment will be immediate, and will continue to improve over the weeks following treatment. The optimal results will be seen within 4 weeks of the treatment.
The entire treatment time for either PRP or PRF will take approximately 1 hour, and this is in large part due to the time it takes to extract plasma and fibrin from the blood.
How Do I Prepare for my PRP/PRF Treatment?
We recommend that clients drink lots of water before the treatment so a good amount of blood can be drawn. Avoid taking any blood thinning medication such as aspirin, and avoid drinking alcohol just to minimize any unnecessary bruising.
How Long Does PRP/PRF Last?
We typically recommend 3 treatments to start. After that, once a year maintenance treatments is all it’s needed to maintain the amazing result.

7 SURPRISING BENEFITS OF PRF TREATMENT
The most significant benefit PRF can provide to the skin is collagen growth. Collagen is a substance in the body, specifically a protein, that keeps the skin from drying out and sagging. However, the body’s collagen production naturally slows down as we age. With PRF treatment, specific areas of the face will be injected with powerful healing proteins and concentrated growth factors, stimulating collagen production.
PRF is widely used to speed up healing, especially in dental procedures. Nowadays, it has become one of the newest innovations in facial aesthetics. The platelets held by the fibrin matrix speed up the skin’s healing process for different conditions. It also encourages natural tissue regeneration.
PRF provides higher platelet concentration while maintaining the fibrin matrix without anticoagulants. The fibrin matrix will then hold the platelet together for slower release in the areas where the PRF is injected. Once the platelets are released, they will provide longer-lasting results in reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and facial folds.
The most sensitive skin on our body is located around our eyes. Fine lines and wrinkles always start around these areas. PRF treatment can address these under-eye hollows and reduce the appearance of eye wrinkles. Skin care products can only do so much for the aging skin, so seeking natural solutions to rejuvenate it is the best option.
PRF, which will be injected into specific parts of the skin, is obtained from the client’s blood. Unlike synthetic fillers, the body will not recognize it as a foreign material, thus resulting in little to no side effects.
PRF treatment is known to treat alopecia and other hair loss or hair thinning conditions caused by metabolic issues, iron deficiency, and certain medications. Once the PRF is injected into the scalp, it will slow down hair loss and stimulate growth instead. It can also improve the hair’s color, vibrance, and vitality.
Aside from everything mentioned above, PRF treatment can rejuvenate the skin naturally without much effort at all. It can address texture and pigmentation issues and facial volume concerns. After a series of PRF therapies, client’s notice that the skin looks fuller, healthier, and more vibrant.
