What is Platelet Rich Plasmma?
Platelet Rich Plasma is an autologous high concentration of platelets in a small volume of plasma. It is measured as 1 million platelets per mL, or at least 2 times the native concentration of whole blood. About 50% of blood is made up of plasma; it is relatively clear with yellow tint made up of water (92%), sugar, fat, protein and salt.
Utilized in a variety of surgical and non surgical applications:
- dentistry
- wound healing
- pain management
- dermatology
- plastic surgery
- hair restoration
- aesthetics
WHAT ARE GROWTH FACTORS?
Platelets release growth factors which initiate the healing cascade:
- PDGF (Platelet Derived Growth Factor) promotes synthesis of extracellular matrix
- TGF (Transforming Growth Factor) synthesis of collagen
- EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor) proliferation and differentiation of epidermal cells
- VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor) stimulates angiogenesis
Step 1: Utilizing a specialized blood collection tube, a practitioner draws a small amount of blood similar to what is required for a basic lab test.
Step 2: The tube is then placed into a centrifuge which spins the blood at a very high speed, causing the platelets to separate from the other components of the blood.
Step 3: Once the platelets are concentrated into the plasma they can be applied to the patient. Activation causes platelets to release essential growth factors and signaling proteins, which are responsible for the wound-healing process.
The blood draw takes just a couple of minutes, followed immediately by a 10-minute centrifugation. The time involved in the application varies based on which procedure isbeing performed
The number of sessions are based on your individual needs. Usually, a minimum of 3 sessions is recommended one month apart for the first 3 months, followed by 1-3 maintenance treatments per year. Eclipse PRP® is close to a physiologic pH, which means the product is less likely to cause a stinging or burning sensation. There may be some temporary discomfort or possible redness and inflammation at the application site, but quickly resolves.
Since the autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is produced from a patient’s own blood, there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction or rejection.
As # of sessions vary between individuals and we cannot guarantee an exact # of sessions to meet your desired results, cost will vary. Packages of 3 to 6 are available and tailored to your needs and budget.
Hair loss can be an embarrassing issue. Male and female pattern hair loss is a genetic problem that can leave you feeling helpless. Options, like prescription drugs, are often partially effective and carry the potential for unwanted side effects. Surgical hair restoration can be expensive and does not treat the underlying medical problems. Now there is an affordable way for you to regain your hair density back without surgery or harmful side effects. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) for hair restoration involves a simple injection of your own platelets into the vascular layer of your scalp.

Platelets contain healing growth factors. Those growth factors are like signal callers that give instructions to your tissue to regenerate and multiply. This has lead different fields of medicine to utilize PRP for wound healing to speed up recovery time and regrow healthier, stronger tissue. Now doctors have discovered new benefits for hair thickening and regrowth. With PRP for Hair, your growth factors and stem cells work together to reverse the miniaturization of the hair follicle and jumpstarting dormant hair back into the growth stage.
